Handbook & Policies
The following information is an overview of studio policies. Please reference the full version in your Welcome Packet.
REGISTRATION FEE: Each dancer is required to pay an annual registration fee of $40.00 per dancer or $60.00 per family (for families with two or more dancers). This fee is non-refundable.
STUDENT CONDUCT: All students are expected to arrive to class on time and should always behave in a respectful and appropriate manner. Students will be asked to leave class or observe if behavior is deemed inappropriate. Please note that cell phones, iPods, and other technological devices may not be used during dance class.
DRESS CODE POLICY: Our Dress Code requirements are detailed in your Welcome Packet. Please pay close attention to the apparel, shoe, and hair requirements for each style of dance. If students are not dressed appropriately, they will receive one verbal warning. Our dress code requirements reflect our desire to promote a class-act, distraction free environment that promotes the visibility of the lines of the body for the varying styles of dance.
LOBBY RULES: 1. Students MUST wait inside the building to be picked up. 2. No student is permitted to leave the building without an adult. 3. All students should use the restroom prior to the class start time. 4. Please try to keep the lobby as quiet and clean as possible. 5. Please do not interrupt the teachers while classes are in session. All concerns should be sent to the Artistic Director and will be addressed within 24-48 hours. 6. Stage Door Dance Productions is in no way responsible for unsupervised children.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: Stage Door Dance generally follows Wake County Public School System’s schedule for inclement weather. If Wake County is closed, the studio will usually be closed; however, there may be instances where the studio will be open. For inclement weather information, please rely on social media and email. We will communicate this information in a timely manner. Missed classes will be made up in the same way as a regular absence. Absence make up policies vary depending on the type of class or camp. Please see the guidelines for the specific activity. Classes missed due to inclement weather will not be reason for tuition reimbursement.
DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR POLICY: We will make every effort to work with the children to encourage personal responsibility and accountability for their actions. We understand the importance of the learning process, but we expect studio rules to be followed. In the event a behavior is disrupting class it may result in the following: (1) Not getting a stamp (after 3, verbal warnings) (2) Initial Consultation w/ Student and Parents (3) Dismissal Policy (Detailed Below)
Stage Door Dance reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Additionally, the studio reserves the right to cancel the enrollment of a child for the following reasons: 1. Non-payment or excessive late payment of fees. 2. Not observing the rules and/or policies of the studio. 3. Child has special needs that we cannot adequately meet with our current program. 4. Physical and/or verbal abuse of staff or children, by a parent or child.
WITHDRAWAL POLICY: Early withdrawal from a class before the completion of the year requires a 30-day written withdrawal notice to the office manager. Please do not leave phone messages or rely on the instructor to notify the office. The Parent/Guardian continues to be responsible for tuition during the 30-day notice period.
