Intensive Training Program

Why join our Intensive Training Program?

Our Intensive Training Program is founded on the principles of (a) technique, (b) performance, (c) community, and (d) character. Our goal is to provide as many meaningful opportunities as possible to cultivate talent and leadership in our students!

Eligibility/Expectations:

  • Open to Dancers Ages 6 & Up

  • Take a minimum of 3 out of the 5 Weeks of Summer Technique Intensive Series (conflicts require pre-approval)

  • Enroll in 1 Ballet + 1 Jazz Class in Your Designated Cohort (as a minimum)

  • Enroll in ITP Session and Pay Monthly Fee (August-May) (details will be shared at the info session)

  • Purchase Apparel and Pertinent Costumes

  • Actively Participate in Philanthropic Components 

  • Attend the ITP Retreat Day on August 24th, 2019

  • Participate in Raleigh Christmas Parade (11.23.19), Produce and Perform in Benefit Show (5.3.20), and All 5 Recital Performances (6.6-6.7, 2020)

  • Tentative Bonus Experiences will be discussed at the info session!

Interested in Learning More? We will have a Parent Info Session at SDD Brier Creek on Wednesday, May 1st from 7:00-7:30pm (current and prospective parents welcome!). There will be an additional Info Session on Thursday, May 2nd at SDD Lake Boone from 5:45-6:15pm.

Stage Door Dance Productions’ students and alum have participated in the following events: A Christmas Carol at Theatre In the Park, Billy Elliot at North Carolina Theatre, the Matilda National Tour, Carolina Ballet's The Nutcracker, Theatre Raleigh Performances, The King and I on Broadway, A Bronx Tale on Broadway, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, The Ferryman on Broadway, the Debbie Allen Summer Intensive, the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance at the University of Southern California, Dance Masters of America National Conventions, UNCSA, and the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, DC.

The students performances are fixtures in the local community. They've performed at Marbles Kids Museum, the Raleigh Christmas Parade, danceSpark, the VA Hospital, the Junior League of Raleigh's A Shopping Spree, Letterland, Relay For Life, and Artsplosure. 

In addition to performing, our students are focused on philanthropic service initiatives. In 2017,  the students completed their Make A Splash! Service Initiative, which raised $7589 to fund a clean water well in Uganda via Global H2O. In 2018, the students produced A Concert For The Kids, which raised $6000 for the Me Fine Foundation. In 2019, the students produced Luck Be For Lemmon to benefit the Frankie Lemmon School. Save the date for our 2020 Benefit Show on Sunday, May 3rd!
